empirica is an independent economic and social science consultancy. The business was founded in 1990. Today it consists of three closely co-operating offices based in Berlin, Bonn and Leipzig.
Together the three offices employ around 30 members of staff with extensive training and experience. Reiner Braun is empirica’s managing director, Marie-Therese Krings-Heckemeier is the chairman of the board of directors. The offices are managed by Timo Heyn (Bonn), Annamaria Deiters-Schwedt (Berlin) and Hardo Kendschek (Leipzig).
Independence, creativity and commitment are the key concepts of empirica’s philosophy. We elaborate individually tailored reports and consultancy packages, by critically analysing our clients’ particular problems and goals. We regard consulting as a personal service.
empirica works at the intersection of research, politics and property investment. We create the necessary links between practice and scientific discussion. We believe a solid empirical basis is an essential part of targeted consultancy. We, therefore, combine quantitative and qualitative empirical research methods in our work.
empirica provides services to public and private clients in various different sectors. Our clients include banks, building societies, insurance companies, building contractors, property investors, local authorities, local government associations, regional and federal ministries and foundations.
empirica works in Germany and abroad and has an extensive network of co-operation partners. Our broad and up-to-date competency profile is based on regular activity in all of Germany’s largest cities and a multitude of medium sized towns. We also have links abroad, particularly in England, North Europe and East European transition countries.
empirica offers young scientists and students work placements in limited numbers.
